Abstract
The article reports on the small number of applications for deprivation of liberty safeguards (DoLs) in Great Britain. According to David Hewitt of Weightmans law firm, it is unlikely that the government will reach its target of 21,000 assessments. He asserted that hospitals and care homes will be in trouble if they fail to provide liberty for incapable people.
