- Abstract
The author reflects on the importance of safety inside the mental health units in Great Britain. He stated that feeling safe is a fundamental prerequisite of being in a mental health facility, however, there are no absolute guarantees over inpatients' safety that could be given. He highlights that a key issue in the mental health field, as collated by the National Patient Safety Agency (NPSA), is related to the sexual safety of service users in inpatient units.
