- Abstract
Syntelencephaly, also known as middle interhemispheric variant of holoprosencephaly, is a subtype of holoprosencephaly characterized by the absence of midline cleavage between the posterior parts of the frontal lobes and anterior parts of the parietal lobes[1]. Anomalies of the course of the anterior cerebral artery are used commonly in prenatal diagnosis of brain midline malformations. Midsagittal ultrasound view with color Doppler (d) and lateral view on postmortem angiography (h) show abnormal vertical course of anterior cerebral artery (solid arrows). gl A 31-year-old woman with no relevant medical history was referred to our institution because of an unusual appearance of the fetal corpus callosum.
