- Abstract
This study was performed to determine the prevalence of various diseases based on species, breed, sex and age of animals at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman Agricultural University (BSMRAU), Gazipur. The experimental data were recorded throughout the year from April 2019 to March 2020. According to the patient case record book and the data obtained from the designated vet doctors,737 patients (cattle 445, goat 214 and pets 78) were recorded for thissurvey. The collected data were compiled in MS Excel 2016 manually and analyzed. The highly prevalent diseases and disordersrecorded were PPR (25.70%) in goat, LSD (20.67%) in cattle, parasitic infestations (15.96% in cattle, 15.38% in dog, 10.26% in cat and 8.88% in goat), anorexia (8.41% in goat and 8.31% in cattle). Among the surgical cases, castration was 11.21% in goat and 5.13% in the cat. Whereas, the ovariohysterectomy was 8.97% in dog and 6.40% in the cat.The results can be beneficial to execute more effective management and treatment of various diseases and will be supportive of the hospital authority to assure proper treatment and management facilities.
