- Abstract
Dersim 1937-38, as one of the most debated issues of the Republic, has created his own literature. From the 1960s to the present day, numerous novels have been published on Dersim 1937-38 and those novels have created a field of their own discourse that can be termed as Dersim novels. The orientalist discourse which creates the ideological other and the derivative discourse which constructs itself on it, are the basic discursive grounds of Dersim novels. Although Remzi Aydın's novels, Sahipsiz üığlıklar and Toprak Dile Geldi, unlike the stated discursive grounds, depict Dersim geography and culture as the essence of humanity and the centre of ancient civilization, people of Dersim is objectified and distorted with the binary oppositions of the themes such as modernity-ancient, individualism-collectivism, nature, essence. That, in combination with the 'Dersim' identity which the writer self-positioned, forms a selforientalist discourse and places the novels in a very parallel surface of the main discursive axes.
