- Abstract
This article studies the response of the Spanish Foreign Policy at the outbreak of the Korean War, a key conflict in the Cold War that had a direct influence on the relations between Washington and Franco’s dictatorship. It analyzes the communications between José Félix de Lequerica and Alberto Martín Artajo, the reports of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Franco’s statements concerning the Korean War. The study tries to show that Spain didn’t support the American military intervention in the Asian peninsula. It also makes the point that Franco never tried to send volunteers to fight with the forces of United Nations in Korea.
