- Abstract
This research article examines the characteristics and histopathologic factors of Hispanic/Latinx-American patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). The study reveals that Hispanic/Latinx-American patients have elevated levels of tissue eosinophilia, indicating disease severity, compared to Caucasian patients. However, the prevalence of tissue eosinophilia is similar between the two groups. Additionally, Hispanic/Latinx-American patients have a lower prevalence of asthma and less basement membrane thickening and fibrosis compared to Caucasian patients. The authors suggest that further research is necessary to determine the cytokine profile and endotype of Hispanic/Latinx-American patients with CRSwNP.
