- Title
Conflict of Interest in Peer-Reviewed Medical Journals: The World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) Position on a Challenging Problem.
- Authors
Ferris, Lorraine E.; Fletcher, Robert H.
- Abstract
The authors reflect on the conflict arising from the publication of medical journals. They said that the conflict of interest in the publishing of medical journals starts when the private interests of a participant differ from his responsibilities in the scientific community. They added that in response to the conflict, the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME) was built in 1995 to assist in the peer-review of medical journals and enhance standards in the medical sector.
