- Abstract
This article discusses the use of a sacral erector spinae plane (S-ESP) block for postoperative pain management in lumbar disc hernia repair. The authors describe a case study in which a 58-year-old male patient underwent discectomy for a lumbar hernia. The patient received an ultrasound-guided S-ESP block as part of a multimodal anesthesia plan, and experienced effective pain relief without complications. The authors suggest that further studies are needed to better understand the mechanism of action and appropriate clinical indications for the sacral ESP block.
