- Abstract
The article focuses on the U.S. copyright law's first sale doctrine for video rental stores. Topics discussed include a preliminary injunction issued by a U.S. district court in California against streaming movie service Zediva, Copyright Act's statutory framework, U.S. Supreme Court case Bobbs-Merrill Co. v. Straus dealing with work reselling. Court case Columbia Pictures Industries v. Redd Home, Inc. related to violation of copyright holder's public performance right is also discussed.
