- Abstract
The article discusses how to prevent or eradicate the deadly primary amebic meningoencephalitis (PAM) disease in Arizona. Also cited are the amoeba Naegleria fowleri as the cause of PAM, the need to establish splash pad construction standards to prevent amoebic infection, and how other U.S. states are handling amoeba infections via premises liability laws or the Model Aquatic Code.
