- Authors
Taylor, James R.
- Abstract
The article explores the postal markings at a post office in Siant Pierre and Miquelon. It mentions the first recorded postal marking in the islands which depicted a crowned imperial eagle, double circular, 37 millimeter (mm) diameter cachet and considered postmark of Robert Stone. It notes the 1862 postmark Type III cachet on the front cover that was sent to Governor Émile Comte de la Roncière. It also emphasizes the issues raised concerning the similarity of both seals.
