- Abstract
Lyman J. Ladner, born in 1934, had a diverse career that included serving in the US Marine Corps, working for General Electric, and eventually joining the US Geological Survey (USGS). He became a skilled photogrammetric compiler and played a key role in the development of the Digital Orthophoto (DOQ) production software, which led to the USGS becoming the DOQ Center. Ladner received recognition for his work, including the US Department of the Interior's Meritorious Service Award and the ASPRS Outstanding Technical Achievement Award. He was known for his dedication to his colleagues and community, as well as his love of baseball. Ladner passed away in 2023, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and friendship.
