- Abstract
The article provides information on the history of radiography. On November 8, 1895, professor Wilhelm Conrad Rontgen observed a phenomenon that led to his discovery of new kind of rays while studying electrical discharges in partially evacuated glass tubes. Naming it x-rays, Rontgen detected that it possesses the property of penetrating the human body and other objects. Moreover, the importance of this discovery to medicine was comparable to the discovery of anesthesia. Furthermore, because of his discovery, the whole field of medicine began to move forward rapidly.
