- Abstract
The article discusses the reported deficiencies in the Uniform Parentage Act in relation to non-biological parents who are in same-sex relationships in America as of January 2013. Artificial insemination, the legal rights associated with marriage in America, and second parent adoption are addressed. Common law equitable doctrines and judicial interpretations of statutes are mentioned, along with statutory definitions of terms such as parent.
