- Abstract
The article explores the views of German priest Martin Luther on superstition and witchcraft based on his sermons published in the 1518 book "Decem praecepta Wittenbergensi predicata populo." Topics discussed include his sermons about the Ten Commandments delivered in Wittenberg, Germany between June 1516 and February 1517, the way Luther regarded magic as a transgression of the First Commandment, and the hostility demonstrated by Luther toward witches.
