- Abstract
The article discusses the goal of preventive medicine regarding the eradication of dracunculiasis or Medina worm as it causes burning pain in the leg to the inflicted person. The said disease is caused by the invasion of a filial worm Dracunculus medinensis, which enters the human body by bathing one's leg in water containing Dracuncula larvae. It cites that intense education in the village is needed to reach the goal of total eradication.
