- Abstract
The article offers information on the 'Jan Aushadhi' or 'people's drug stores' program of India which aims to sell low priced generics or quality medicines across the nation. It states that with the launch of the plan, multinational pharmaceutical corporations are trying their best to protect their market share and recommended a total exemption of taxes and duties on all generic drugs sold in India. Further it discusses a need for doctors to develop the culture of generic use at Jan Aushadhis.
