The article focuses on issues related to married couples who file separately (MFS) their income taxes with the passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) which prohibits the accessing these premium tax credits (PTC). It mentions that flaws in the Internal Revenue Code which requires the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to accept more state marital separation orders as binding for tax filing status purposes and issues with the domestic violence victims and abandoned spouses.
