- Authors
Rosow, David E.; Stewart, Michael G.
- Abstract
The article focuses on surgical treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and presents a discussion on recent research on the effectiveness of nasal surgery in OSA. It states that obstruction in nose is believed to be a general cause of OSA. It discusses recent otolaryngological research on nasal surgery and concludes that the surgery does not improve the minimum oxygen saturation. However, nasal surgery resulted in improved quality of life, sound sleep, and reduction in sleepiness.
