- Abstract
In the research we studied several biofungicides against verticillium and fusarium wilt (caused by Verticillium dahliae (VD) or Fusarium oxysporum f.sp. lycopersici (FOL) and F. oxysporum f.sp. radicis-lycopersici (FORL), respectively) diseases on tomato. The testing was performed in glasshouse in potted plants by using artificially infected substrates. In the case of FOL we observed antagonistic effect of biofungicides Remedier, Prestop, Polyversum and Serenade ASO, whereas suppression of FORL was observed in biofungicides Remedier, Prestop, Polyversum and Cilus Plus. Testing against verticillium wilt (VD) revealed antagonistic effect of biofungicides Serenade ASO, Cilus Plus and Gliocladium catenulatum biofungicide Prestop. The results showed broad spectrum of several biofungicides; however we observed high level of variability in efficacy which depends also on the pathogen. Higher efficacy was obtained by root dipping method than drenching after planting, however overall efficacy was relatively low (<50% reduction of infected plants) which is not acceptable in commercial growing conditions in case of high soil infection potential. Based on our findings we advise the use of biofungicides against soil pathogens as preventive action or as additional measure to different soil disinfestation treatments which promotes soil health.
