- Title
Religion, Law, and the State: Toleration, Non-preferentialism, and Equidistance.
- Authors
Morrison, Scott
- Abstract
The article discusses the nascent theory of equidistance, which is proposed along the path of non-preferentialism in issues relating to church and state, to learn that the state should be impartial towards religious groups and discourses instead of viewing them as categorically separate. Topics discussed include secularism challenged by migration and mingling of creeds, proposal of equidistance to incorporate secularism, and the four models such as separation, accommodation, and establishment.
