- Abstract
The article presents a study which aims to report the family Sisyridae for the first time in Rio de Janeiro state in Brazil and to provide bionomic information on the immature stages of Sisyridae panama. It records Sisyra panama Parfin & Gurney, 1956 as the first species of the family Sisyridae. It indicates that pupae of S. panama developed in eight days, eggs are covered with a thin layer of silk and hatch in the morning.
