- Abstract
Elias González Gómez. This Is What I Experienced. Report from the 1st Universal Multicultural Dialogue, 2012, Guadalajara. A volunteer's experience. It was a peak experience. My heart jumped for joy. I met people who shared the most sacred dimensions of their tradition: Buddhists, Bahá'ís, Shamans, Hindus, Hare Krishna, Catholics, Jews, Protestants, everyone. One morning I took a walk with Pedro Pablo, a grandfather of the Mayan culture, to the square outside the museum, where the kids from Preparatory School No. 1 come out to play and relax. The-re I did Pedro Pablo's ritual, a gift to the street. It was a success. I arrived at seven in the morning and stayed until nine at night, the same as all the volunteers. I worked shoulder to shoulder with Chuy, who was in charge of the artistic side of the event. My admiration for him is huge. I came down with a cold, but I didn't care. It was all grace, and the final result is not something interesting that I did once in my life: it's a social commitment, the snail's path inward and outward. That's the way the spiral moves.
