- Authors
Jordan, Craig S.
- Abstract
The article discusses the accountability of private military contractors (PMCs) in areas of armed conflict in the U.S. It states that bringing PMCs within the scope of legal accountability will require legislative action to establish the laws that will govern the conduct of PMCs. It highlights the shortcomings of such laws, as well as the need for change in legislation targeting PMCs. It outlines various methods of prosecuting and punishing PMCs who have been charged with crimes in areas of armed conflict. It addresses the problem of enforcing PMC liability and presents a number of potential solutions.
