- Title
Stretch Fiber Can Take the Heat.
- Abstract
The article reports on the introduction of Dow XLA HTT stretch fiber from Dow Fiber Solution in December 2005. The textile fiber is resistant to high heat and harsh chemicals. The company claims that it is the first olefin-based stretch fiber that can withstand temperatures optimal for thermosol dyeing of polycotton and polywool blends and maintain dimensional stability and stretch performance. The fiber can be used for uniform and workwear and is marketed to these markets. Luc J. Perquy of Alsico said that the fiber can be yarn dyed unlike conventional stretch yarns.
