- Abstract
The article discusses topic related to the recession in the U.S. Particular in the North America. It highlights the signals on the stabilization of the banking system despite the severe states of distress of other banks in the country. It offers information on the introduction of Public-Private Investment Program (PPIP), which is expected to assist in generating $500 billion aimed at purchasing assets from strained banks. It also mentions the potential increase of unemployment rate in the country, which rose to 8.5% in March 2009 representing the highest level since 1983.
