- Abstract
The article discusses various aspects of living, aging, and dying in healthy and just societies in relation to the author's father's experiences as a man who died at the age of 102. Palliative care and quality of life improvements for patients are examined, along with the need for love and compassion throughout the palliative care process. Nursing home care is assessed, along with inequalities in access to pain relief and end-of-life care. Opioid addiction is examined.
