- Abstract
During the Covid-19 pandemic period, the prohibition of going out, the lack of service in the markets because of restrictions and the concerns about getting viruses cause consumers to prefer online market shopping instead of going to the market to meet their basic needs. In addition, while the retail markets concentrate on online sales, it is observed that new companies operating in sales and distribution have entered the sector. In this study, the concern faced by consumers during the pandemic period, the effects of this concern on market shopping, the attitudes of consumers to online market shopping during the pandemic period and their thoughts about online market shopping in the post-pandemic period were investigated, and it was examined whether these opinions differ by gender. The results show that women are more concerned than men about pandemic period and getting viruses during market shopping during the pandemic period and this concern will encourage online grocery shopping during and after the pandemic period. The results will contribute to the understanding of the changes in the online market shopping behavior of consumers during and after the pandemic period by retail companies and to plan their marketing activities in the right direction.
