In this essay the author reflects on the use of the concept of nature in theological anthropology. This term has been marked by the metaphysical approach with a substantial tendency to abstraction. And yet, nature has the capacity to include also the reflections of the human and historical-social sciences to illuminate the background on which the grace of God and the conditions for the exercise of freedom can work.
