- Abstract
In this article, the author reflects on his experience in teaching reading, race and ghosts in a juvenile detention facility in the U.S. Topics discussed include the use of literature on death and violence against people of color in the U.S. and around the world, how the author conceptualized the presence of ghosts in classrooms, and the potential consequences for using ghosts as a tool to teach freedom, justice and equality.
