- Abstract
The article reports on legal developments relating to the regulation of unfair competition in the field of marketing in the U.S. The author provides information about a cease and desist order issued by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC) against the Standard Oil Company of California and the advertising agency Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn. A corrective advertising order served to the Warner-Lambert Company is discussed in relation to the marketing of nonprescription drugs. News about food advertising legislation proposed by the FTC is mentioned in relation to the displaying of nutritional information.
