- Abstract
Social Skills can be understood as a set of verbal and non-verbal behaviors that facilitate communication between people. There are people who experience difficulties in social skills and these can be learned are lifelong, although in childhood it is considered the critical time to learn these skills. This article describes a social skills training with two participants who reported difficulties in the relationship in some contexts: love, family and academic life. The program had a duration of 12 weeks in which each week was explained the corresponding theme with the difficulties verified in the tests. In the pre-and post intervention evaluations, the Social Skills Inventory (IHS-Dell Prette) was used. The aim of this study was to conduct social skills training in an individual way. In this aspect, the participants showed greater adherence, a greater availability of the therapist to model behaviors, but had limitations such as a lower diversity of behavioral tests, lack of Other people, because people who learn faster encourage other people. Finally, the results of the Social Skills training were evaluated through the participants' own report and also the comparison with the tests performed before the intervention, a significant improvement was observed in both participants when purchased through the tests and through their perception. It was found that the training provided improved social interactions, and demonstrates that training can be a useful tool to improve social interactions.
