- Abstract
The objective of this article is to explore the relationship between the levels of autonomy and the quality of work in Mexican State evaluation units dedicated to the forest management. The research is justified by the need to have more knowledge about how institutional efforts in the Mexican states are improving the evaluation practices of public policies and programs. To analyze the quality of the selected evaluations of forest programs, we use a qualitative metaevaluation approach; then, we explore one of the factors which can have an impact: the level of institutional autonomy.
