- Abstract
The article discusses the Common Principles of the Coalition of Essential Schools (CES), which grew out of the findings of "A Study of High Schools." It states that the Common Principles have had a wide and various impact on K-12 education in the U.S. and provided guidance for the founding of new schools and the transformation of existing schools. The "Diploma by exhibition," which is number six among the Ten Common Principles is discussed.
