- Abstract
The Corpus Hermeticum (CH) is a collection of brief esoteric treatises of a philosophical and religious nature, probably written between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD in the Hellenic Egypt. Some texts deal not only with cosmological, but also soteriological matters: humanity's precarious condition and a distinct way of life that could be experienced by the initiates. Thus, I intend to show how the CH understands the inner structure of human beings (nous, soul, body) and its correspondence to the macroscopic structure of the universe; the soul's precarious condition; and the itinerary of conversion suggested as a possibility of rehabilitation for the initiates.
