The article focuses on the Slovene dialect of Sele/Zell in Carinthia, Austria, which commonly spoken by residents along mountain valleys and where residents also speak the local German dialect known as Karntnerisch. Topics discussed include variation in Carinthia's linguistic levels, the study conducted by Tom Priestly on the Slovene dialect between 1982 and 1985 and a comparison of Priestly's study and a 2013/14 fieldwork led by Wohlfarter.
