The author reflects on the value of diversity in higher education in the U.S. The article discusses the level of institutional involvement assigned to U.S. universities and colleges' Chief Diversity Officers (CDOs). Topics include the replacement of diversity efforts by diversity integration efforts, the funding of diversity efforts in Southern Nevada, the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE), as well as the impact of the U.S. achievement gap on minority college student recruitment.
