- Abstract
Efficient cw room temperature laser performance at 946 nm and frequency doubling into the blue spectral region has been achieved by using a composite Nd:YAG laser rod end pumped by two coupled beamshaped 20 W laser diode bars. An output power of 5.7 W at the fundamental wavelength was obtained. Intracavity frequency doubling with LiJO[sub 3] , β-BaB[sub 2] O[sub 4] , and LiB[sub 3] O[sub 5] yielded a maximum output power of 550 mW at 473 nm with β-BaB[sub 2] O[sub 4] as the nonlinear crystal.
