- Abstract
The article discusses the importance of the Mussulman Wakf Validating Act 1913 for Indian Muslims. The election of Quaid-i-A zam Mohammad Ali Jinnah as a member of the Imperial Legislative Council in 1910 on a seat reserved for Muslims from Bombay, India is mentioned. It notes that the wakf in Islamic law is defined as a permanent endowment by a Muslim of any property with the intention of devoting profit for the welfare and benefit of the poor and needy recognized by Islam as good or pious.
