- Abstract
The article examines a particular group of portraits of Cracow, Poland bishops in the cloisters of the city's Franciscan friary, especially the oldest portraits depicting the friary's founder, Zbigniew Olesnicki. Topics discussed include issues that arise from the continuity of the project and its impact on the concept of portrayal (portrait as a tool in creating a historical tradition), and information on the tradition of representing individuals who interact through dialogue.
