- Abstract
In this paper, the damped vibrations of an isotropic exponentially non-homogeneous rectangular plate of finite length and breadth with parabolically variable thickness resting on elastic foundation have been studied. Here thickness of the plate varies parabolically in one direction (along x-axis). The two edges parallel to the x-axis (y=0, y=b) are considered to be simply supported. Different sets of boundary conditions have been applied at the other two edges. In this paper generalized eigenvalue problem is obtained by method of series solution. The values of frequency parameter and the corresponding mode of vibration, for specific values of various parameters are obtained.
