- Abstract
The author comments on the growing interest in the U.S. on benefit and payment reforms that support models of care that control costs and improve quality. Topics covered include the mixed and limited evidence on the effectiveness of value-based financing reforms, studies which show that value-based insurance design model can reduce financial barriers for high-value care and produce better outcomes without increasing costs, and the importance of directional evidence for effective reforms.
