- Abstract
The authors discuss whether social media as online social networking service such as Twitter is advantageous or a liability to medical conferences. The advantages of Twitter such as pre-conference advertising, dissemination of information, and intra-conference networking are discussed as well as the disadvantages which include misinformation due to technical restrictions or human error, trustworthiness, and impact on attendance.
