- Abstract
The article focuses on the achievement of a new exponential signal amplifier based on a dendritic chain reaction (DCR) as a culmination of a long search of dendrimer-based signal amplification which was initiated with the concept of self-immolation. It notes the nature of dendrimers as molecular trees having regular structure that have strange and useful macromolecular properties. It mentions the quality of the achievement as reminiscence of how a single cycle of polymerase chain reaction (PCR) doubles a number of copies of DNA strands.
