- Abstract
The purpose of this work is to evaluate the solar radiation incident of a mangrove installed in the Ilha dos Papagaios located in River Ribeira de Iguape in the south coast of the state of Sao Paulo. A meteorological tower with 10m of height was installed, and next to this, two meteorological stations being one fixed 10m of height and another one 2m of height. It was also used the data of solar radiation monitored in a data collection platform (DCP) pertaining to the INPE/CPTEC installed 10 km far. The measurement period went from January, 1st to December, 31st of 2008. The results indicate an annual average of 27.3% of canopy transmissivity. The values oscillated between a minimum in the autumn and winter months with 16.5% to a maximum value in the spring/summer months (44.2%). The annual curve of (τd ) presents a inverse curve to the curve of solar declination. The models of linear regression presented a high correlation that allowed an estimation of values for solar radiation and their relations below and above the canopy in the mangrove from those values monitored in the official meteorological station eliminating in future the maintenance its maintenance.
