The article discusses the importance of the concept of simplicity in understanding modernism in Hebrew poetry on the basis of exchanges between writers David Fogel and Abraham Shlonsky. Topics addressed include distinctions between style and language in writing put forth by Fogel, expressions used by Shlonsky to counterattack Fogel's claims, and Uri Zvi Greenberg's views on the political impropriety of simplicity.
