- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which examined the effectiveness of group cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) in older adults living in smaller center, rural and remote communities in the U.S. and Canada. Study participants were assessed using scales such as the Geriatric Anxiety Inventory (GAI) and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) Suicide Risk Review. The results gave a strong evidence that group CBT programs are employed for seniors who have major depression and in small communities they are delivered by community mental health staff.
