- Abstract
The article presents the author's investigation on the Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) and his belief that it is ideologically biased. A background on SSCI and its maker, Thomson ISI (ISI) of Thomson Corp., is given. The importance of citations to professionals and the factors ISI weighs when considering a journal for inclusion are stated. A definition of ideologically biased is given and results of a 2003 investigation by the author on whether the SSCI is ideologically biased is presented.
