This article discusses the genesis of memory in archaeology of mental processes from the reflections developed by german philosopher Christoph Türcke in his work Philosophie des Traums (Original in German, 2010a). This is a study that used the methodological feature of literature research. It discusses the emerging of memory as an attempt to release the tormentors stimuli through the process of compulsion to traumatic repetition, considered the only genuinely human drive by Türcke (2010a).
